This amazing tour consisted of three fun events. First you climb aboard the tour trailer, receive your welcome drink and travel enjoy the sites as we travel along Siem Reap River to our first stop, the Lotus Farm by Samatoa! Here you will learn how the sacred lotus flower is transformed into stunning textiles, scarves, and accessories using ancient Cambodian techniques. Lotus Farm is a social enterprise producing innovative textiles made from lotus fiber while supporting vulnerable women in Cambodia. Treat yourself to luxurious textiles and beautifully crafted lotus dresses, scarves, jackets and even lotus seed jewelry, teas, and cosmetics! Each piece reflects their deep commitment to tradition, innovation, and sustainability!
Next we board the trailer to the sounds of classic Khmer music and meander past famous Phnom Kraom Hill to the Chong Khneas floating village on the Tonlé Sap, South-East Asia’s largest freshwater lake! Here you’ll board a tour boat and as we cruise through the exotic floating village, our knowledgeable guide will tell you all about the community, it’s history and their day-to-day routine as they make a living on the lake and interact within this unique ecosystem. Get amazing pictures of the diverse floating businesses and services in the community such as churches, the post office, Police station, the cake store, hardware store and more!
As sunset approaches kick back and enjoy the peace of the lake as we shut the engines off and float. Enjoy a nice glass of wine, a cold beer or soft drink for purchase and a complimentary dinner featuring a gourmet sandwich, local snacks and a desert! This “golden hour” on the lake is a great time for amazing sunset pictures and video!
After sunset we cruise back to the trailer, it’s a surreal and wonderful experience slowly traveling in the darkness through the village at night, the locals cooking and eating dinner in their homes, the sounds of songs from legendary Khmer artists such as Ros Sereysothea echoing throughout the village.
The night is still young and we will drop you off at the legendary local bar/ restaurant Pomme to continue the good times! Your tuk tuk will be waiting at Pomme to take you home!
